Even as a self-proclaimed enemy of all movies from the Sci-Fi/fantasy genre, I must admit that I have enjoyed every minute of both The Chronicles of Narnia 1 & 2. If you have not seen them, I highly recommend them as a perfect example to some of the stages that we go through as Christians.
The series of movies originated from fiction books created by well-known author C.S. Lewis and each one has offered a well received Christian alternative to secular movies such as Harry Potter & The Golden Compass . The first movie follows four siblings on a journey through a mystical land and offers beautiful symbolism of the grace, mercy, and ultimate sacrifice of Christ.
The second movie offers a perfect analogy of what many believers go through after following Christ their entire lives. I could relate to the main character's flaws of self-righteousness, pride, falsely judging others, and an arrogant sense of entitlement. Lewis offers insight into the redemptive power of Christ's never-ending, unfailing love for his people despite our shortcomings.
